Why no takeover? Same reason as why no steady profit stream, same reason as why TRMB has such trouble planning the size of its assembly line:

Since most GPS markets haven't developed enough, it's all too unpredictable. Trimble is making guesses on where and how much to invest in various markets (and meanwhile trying to get as many patents and active R&D as possible, to cover future bases). From the point of view of an acquirer, I think, TRMB is just too hard to value at this point.

In a way, this is good for us. It means that any possible takeover will wait until later, when markets have become established and Trimble has steady revenues and steadier growth. It means a much higher takeover price, if there is a takeover. When? I'd think it would have to be a couple of years away.
