Ken, My statement was in reference to the size of the economey, and the reaches of the US corporate world.
In 1929, the reach was primarly national.
in 1998, the reach is Global.

1929 it was smaller than 1998, but relatively speaking, it is sort of the same.

So the depression was national, this time it will be world wide.
Still don't see how the power gets turned off.
