Bob, thanks for your response.

It's not that I didn't trust it.. I didn't understand it! Are string comparisons not implemented? I've searched thru the help file and can't find much in the way of rules for the "if" statement.

I had tried the method you proposed and was just trying to improve it some more (always tinkering).

You're right I had the exit trigger wrong - I had been trying every combination I could and that was the result..
