CYCH + FVHI + E-TRADE + YHOO + CMGI (et al) = SOFTBANK = BIG GAINERS

It's coming together on the e-commerce side, and it looks like CYCH will be the premier provider! Softbank's interest in E-Trade, CYCH, YHOO and I believe some of CMGI makes for quite a compelling line-up.

Ready for takeoff!

I believe E*Trade uses VirtualPay from First Virtual to transfer money in from customer banks. They let customers transfer in up to $10,000 per day. How does this fit in with Cybercash? How can Cybercash pick this up and do it so quickly. The Press Release says:

"Under the terms of the preliminary agreement, CyberCash will provide its premier Internet payment solution to over 2,000 merchants who previously used the First Virtual Internet Payment System (IPS). In exchange, First Virtual's best-of-breed Interactive Messaging Platform (IMP) will be Cybercash's preferred solution for interactive messaging. Although First Virtual was one of the early entrants to the Internet payment service business a few years ago, the company will exit that business to focus on its successful messaging technology services. Before First Virtual ceases its IPS operations in August, all 2000+ merchants and 60,000+ active buyers of the First Virtual IPS will be encouraged to deploy CyberCash's payment technologies and services.

Does this mean that Cybercash will be processing for E*Trade transfers by August?

>>>If we can cut back on the buyout hype, what is the impact of the FVHI agreement?

Looks good to me, why not? "CyberCash is able to increase its market share for a nominal amount of capital. [It] eliminated a perceived competitor in the marketplace and further solidified its own position in the market," he said. "Because it provides critical mass, it will make CyberCash more attractive not only to partners but also to potential acquirers."
