Smaller, thinner, lighter July 21, 1998 On Aug. 3, Toshiba will also make a series of notebook announcements in the United States, similar to products recently announced in Japan, sources said. In Japan, Toshiba introduced two new ultrathin, 0.78-inch, Pentium notebooks with 266-MHz and 233-MHz processors. The units measure approximately 10 inches by 7.8 inches. Also announced were new mini-notebook Librettos weighing 1.8 pounds and using a 6.1-inch TFT display and a 166-MHz Pentium.
