a good thing to find out about on Rule 144 shares is the expiration dates. If the company goes up then investors via the Rule 144 shares may want their money out (& they are hoping to also get a return on their investment) so the expiration day is not a good day to be in the stock IMHO. If shares go down sometimes investors want to cut their losses and sell off as well or they hold the shares in hope of per share price appreciation.

Shares in the float is also an important number for both short term and long term share price predictions.
