You know I'm kidding you right?

Remember the employees get a continuous stock purchase. They get the lowest price in a 6 month period at a 15% discount. That means that they can always benefit from the increase in value of Novell stock just by maximizing their contribution level.

In fact that is exactly what I would do if I were at Novell.

You seem to miss one of the old truths of investing. Take a profit. If your stock goes up 100% and you keep it on the theory of it will split (MSFT etc.) continue to double etc., you've done well in this market with those companies with growing revenues (not Novell). But those times (see Asia) are coming to an end. people who play this game too long will get burned badly. Hell I'd take a $5 profit in Novell in a heartbeat.
