The answer to who was bidding market orders at the open.

After playing golf this weekend one of the guys in our foursome laughed when I was talking about BCST. He said he had a 100 share market at the open because he already had 200 shares of the IPO and he knew that MM's would bid the price a little higher if there were market to buy at open orders. Says he's not the only one that he knew was doing this. He felt there was little risk because he sold all the shares 5 minutes after they opened. Once again wallstreet has come up with a way to drive prices legally higher while taking little risk.
