Fed seen refraining from open mkt operation Tues

NEW YORK, July 21 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve was expected to stay out of the open market on Tuesday, as there are
enough reserves in place to meet the Fed's add need, analysts said.

Nearly $4 billion in repurchase agreements remain outstanding, including Monday's two-day fixed operation and last week's
six-day fixed repos.

Meanwhile, the Fed faces only around a $2.5 billion a day add need, analysts said.

Some noted that a small round of overnight system repos could not be ruled out.

In mid-morning trade, federal funds were trading right at the 5-1/2 percent target rate.
