Hi Thomas,

Let me clarify something. I know there are many many "stories" just like this on the "net" . It is ironic because while I was posting these, I received an email from a friend whose son is in China, where the stories are similar. The ones I posted are from an email I received from Charles Coulston, who I know to be a sincere and dedicated man. The stories, as I said, came from Reg Cox, one of the college students who went over to Nairobi for a month.

I purposefully did NOT post where you can help sponser this ministry because I realize most people already do that, and because I felt it would seem as if I was stumping for them!!. If any choose to be a part of this you can send me a private message and I will tell you where you can. It is certainly not a nationally recognized effort, but rather several congregations and many individuals help out.

Now to your other question or statement.

For every street kid that finds a missionary who witnesses them, there are probably thousands that don't. Children that are abused, abandoned, killed, that never even hear of Christ during their brief and cruel lives. Why would the only way to salvation be denied to so many??

Do I become Judge and thereby Creator? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Let me tell you just a few of the words that guide me on this path.

(Mat 5:3 NIV) "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

(Mat 5:4 NIV) Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

(Mat 5:5 NIV) Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

(Mat 5:6 NIV) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

(Mat 5:7 NIV) Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

(Mat 5:8 NIV) Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

(Mat 5:9 NIV) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

(Mat 5:10 NIV) Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

(Mat 5:11 NIV) "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

THomas, If I truly believe that God is God and He sent His Son to die for us, then my faith will be a working faith and He will guard and test the rest. Yes I have guilty feelings sometimes because i was born in a place of vast riches, yet that is what the accuser will use against me if i let him.

I know my effort is poor to explain the unexplainable, but as God is PERFECT, IN PERFECTION MY GOD WILL JUDGE JUSTLY! Do you believe that?

dan

Hello Tom,

Many ask the same question, "Why does God allow such incredible suffering, especially with innocent children?"
God gives us the freedom of choice in what we do, in how we choose to conduct our lives. Our acceptance or rejection of His word and His plan of salvation.
II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. KJV

Regarding children Matthew 18:1-10 tells us of Jesus setting forth a little child and describing how we ought to become as that little one if we want to enter the kingdom of heaven.
vs 5 And whosoever shall, receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
vs 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Obviously it is against Gods will that they should suffer.

I take comfort in verse 10:
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do ALWAYS behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

For me, because I believe Gods word, the above passage leaves no grey area in my mind. At some point we must reach an age of accountability where if we hear the message of salvation we choose to either receive it or reject it. Just as we choose to do good or evil, to harm a child or to help and love them.

God bless,

John

"This is where my faith is tested the most. For every street kid that finds a missionary who witnesses them, there are probably thousands that don't.............. Why would the only way to salvation be denied to so many??"

Salvation is denied to no one. Each must choose the Cross or reject it. It is presumptuous on your part to imply that some who truly desire the truths and the love of God are denied. God knows the hearts of all men who seek him and desire him with all their hearts.
When a heart truly seeks God they will find him. God gives us that assurance in his Word.
The history of Christianity is full of examples of lone missionaries finding their way to the deepest enclaves of pagan Africa, India, or Europe and bringing the Gospel ot hungry souls. God knows his business better than we do. You entire line of reasoning assumes that God lacks compasssion, that he lacks understanding and that he is incompetent.
Everyone does not desire the Gospel and the love of God. LIke Satan, the majority of men desire darkness rather than light.
Finallly, the cripple, the starving and the blind are probably more numerous on Wall ST. and SI than in deepest darkest Africa.
Financial prosperity, affluency, and an abundance of academic knowledge are in fact the most crippling diseases of spiritual health.
They blind the eyes, starve the heart and deform the spirit of our inner man.
The carnal minded are far more impressed with the external diseases of the body.

Because the fields are ripe for harvesting and there are few laborers to do the harvesting. I would suggest to you a concrete solution to your your delemma, become a harvestor. It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.

I've already suggested that dark and pagan countries of SI and Wall.
If you are really concerned with starving and abused children, I can also get you into two orphanages where humble fold are lighting their little candles. One in Haiti and one in Guatemala. Both of them have immediate openings of volunteer workers.
Maybe there is a child with a hungry heart for the Gospel awaiting your small candle.
