Hi Dan:

Having done some back of the envelope comparisons
between LMDS and MMDS in the past, I have a few questions
concerning your MMDS system:

a) What is your frequency reuse factor? What kind
of modulation do you use for the downlink (64-QAM?)
You mentioned that you have a capacity of 6Gb/sec per
cell. How could this be? MMDS operators have 100MHz
of spectrum. Using 64-QAM, I arrive at 600Mb/sec
(assuming a frequency reuse factor of 1, which is not
possible). Do you use antenna sectorization? (I still
don't see how you could have the extremely fine
sectorizaton needed).

b) What is the size of the antennas needed for your
subscribers? What is a rough approximation for the CPE
cost?

c) What is the architecture for the return link
(I understand you still need FCC approval for 2-way)?
What modulation do you use (QPSK?) Who manufactures
2-way MMDS equipment?

d) Like most MMDS service providers, you seem to be
advertising the size of the cell (by comparison
with LMDS). This is fine for broadcasting purposes,
but larger cells mean also more customers per cell,
so that the BW for each customer may not be too
large. So if you are really successful, won't you be
BW constrained?

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
