MM have the opportunity to influence stocks, movements, gaps etc. and extremes, but over the longer curve, supply and demand reigns. Your analysis at the end was more accurate. If some mm, tries drivign the stock lower to 'swoop' up shares, and doesnt get them and the stock flies, a) he didnt get stock b) he shorted the stock and its going th e other way...nothing like momentum one way or the other to put an end to rigging.

Mm's do have a few serious advantages, the biggestis usually the firms' knowledge of their orders..ie..if a firm knows it has 200k to go at the market, its more than happy to let it run up and it will keep selling all it can. With AMZN up 10 and strong yesterday and the rest of the sector on fire, its not a long shot to assume EGGS wouldbe up at sometime today.

Ask yourself if the logic makes sense...is that how you would do it? would you expose yourself to that kind of risk? Its no different for mms. There is also no easy answer.

Steve
