I agree. I'm not saying that CKFR should change their prime strategy of selling through banks (both net and otherwise). I'm saying they should also be exploring other avenues of distribution (including portals) so they don't get caught short if old style banks drag their feet, go in house and/or miss the market.

Bankers have this goofy notion that "control" of the customer is what's important. IBM used to think this way. Control, if there is such a thing, comes only from selling a needed product at a good price today, tomorrow and every day after that. Anything CKFR can do to disabuse their bank customers of this "control" idea, including setting up NetBank with all the plumbing they need to operate thru AOL, Excite or whomever, is good, in my opinion.
