Kevin,

It appears that IBM may have some excess fab capacity as a result. My guess is that they aren't happy doing business with AMD.

IBM would be happy to do business with AMD, but AMD would not be able to make money on chips made by IBM, because IBM is probably one of the most expensive fab partners.

Kevin,

To the best of my knowledge the processor and their related cores
are listed below:

CPU Name CORE
5x86 5x86
MediaGX 5x86
MediaGXm 5x86 + 6x86MX FP
6x86 6x86
6x86MX 6x86MX
MII 6x86MX
MXi Cayenne
??Partnered Slot 1/2?? Cayenne
MediaPC? Cayenne?
PCOAC (a) Cayenne?
PCOAC (b) Jalapeno?

As for the rise, it is possibly caused by a number of things which include:

Improved speed grade mix and yields from Portland Fab. The ability to ship more higher margin processor to OEMs.

The incredibly low valuation of NSM at the 52 week low.

Intel's new that they see light at the end of the tunnel.

Intel & Other's statements that Asia is improving a little a bit.
