Why would you think Jeff owes you an answer on Datek issues?

Why not ask Peter Stern, who pops in here every now and then?

Off Topic Post~

Just doing some catch-up reading and saw this comment from you to Jeff Dryer which was written a couple of months ago:

<<Jeff Dyer - The courtesy of a reply is in order. We are trying to help each other on this thread. Why don't you reply?>>

I realize you didn't ask me, but I do so much enjoy being helpful whenever possible. :) You see, since I was also troubled by Jeff's lack of response (yeah, right), I began to think of some reasons why Jeff might not have replied and I felt compelled to share them with you - I hope that Jeff won't mind my speculation. <gg>

THE QUESTION:
"Why don't you reply?"

POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS:

-Maybe he was too busy running SI to read and then reply to the four zillion posts that he gets everyday of which yours was only one

-Perhaps he secretly owns Datek and didn't want to get into it any further for fear that you'd throw an INFO DART at the thread and blow his cover

-Maybe he hasn't read his latest copy of Emily Post's Netiquette and isn't aware that he must respond to everyone's posts whether or not he has anything further to add to the discussion or more pressing matters to handle at that particular moment in time

-Quite possibly he might've been sorta busy packing up his stuff to move to Seattle (his clothes, his files, his teddy bear, and maybe the SI servers and such) and it just slipped his mind that he needed to reply to you

-He might've figured that you're all helping each other enough on the thread without any need for further input from little ole him anyway

-Who knows? Jeff could've been kidnapped temporarily by aliens or some Motley Fools and was therefore unable to respond though he so badly wanted to do so

-He might have been...errr..."indisposed" ;)

-Jeff might've chosen to start a flame war on another thread since his post here only generated less than ten responses

-He might've been so thoroughly impressed by your comments that he knew better than to try to match wits with the likes of you publicly, so he responded by p-mail or discussed it with his shrink

-Perchance it was simply that it was well past his bedtime and he really needed to get his beauty sleep

:)

Glad to be of help, happy trading to you, and have a great day!

V.
