You're missing the point of all of this. ADSL is not going to be anything like ISDN period. Let's just get that clear immediately. They are not going to be launched, supported, etc. in any similar way. The pricing will drop and drop radically. Aware and ADSL-Lite isn't even getting talked about, but just wait and see how fast it comes out like Sprint's ION announcement but with real equipment ready to go.
Splitterless ADSL-Lite is cheap! There aren't any options. They have to go with this. ISDN didn't have the huge internet to service. Do you think the internet stocks can gel without the bandwidth revolution? The market is insane. Play it rationally and beat it. These xDSL stocks will have their day in the sun and sooner than you think. We are way closer to deployment than people realize.
