Thoughts on a 5"x8" hand scanner ...

Each forensic quality fingerprint stores so many pieces of information that the files are very large and FBI AFIS database searches can take forever due to the large amounts of data that must be compared, especially if you don't know which finger you have a latent print from.
How large must the files be to store all the forensic quality data? If you only find a fingerprint, do you have to compare against the file of the whole hand? Why haven't we heard of law enforcement agencies clamoring for whole hand scanners? This may be a great product with no market.

What's next, whole body scanners?
