If you are going to write a 4 page diatribe on SI, on FASB or covered calls or whatever, at least pepper it with a little innuendo - make something up if need be.

But you're right about this deferred revenue thing. It's really a very confusing issue for many people because it is somewhat complicated.
Not so much what it is, but exactly what all the offsets are, etc., how $ get there, etc. I think to really understand it, you have to know something about acctg but even more importantly something about how software contracts are written and how companies book them...or maybe I should say don't book them.<g>
