Actually, I interpret it as a polite way of saying that they didn't want to indicate the departure.....for example...when an executive is laid off...does he say he's been fired on his resume, or create a more pleasant word for "leaving" the company....like, down sized or left to find a more challenging position to better suit my abilities...and so forth... I tend to believe that Samgee was correct in his post and that the accounting firm was asked to leave....JMO
