Janar, (in my opinion) Qwest will level off around 55/65 but has potential to grow much larger. It's still a small company as far as the competition goes. Strictly speaking on the Data side (Frame Relay, ATM, Internet)the customer support and sales could use a facelift as many of the Qwest sales team doesnt understand what they are selling or how it works. They will let a customer order 26 T1's and not offer the possibility of ordering a DS3 which would be cheaper and easier to utilize. The largest problem they are faced with currently is providing the room in the POPs for expansion and equipment such as 1/0 DACS or DSX's between the POPs for circuit routing and expansion. The company is growing at something like 46% and planning for growth at 15%. Also, the network is only half completed and the company has a high overhead with many debts to pay off. But on the positive side, they have the best quality network and are relatively inexpensive with a staff of knowledgable engineers who know what they are doing. The upper management interacts well with the people and are willing to listen and open to new ideas. They are aware of the problems I meantioned above and are already trying to confront the issues and correct them. As for WorldCom, they are pretty much a powerhouse. I don't believe the price of the stock will drastically increase in value, but will maintain a steady nominal growth. They have one of the largest networks available and are making great International strides. While they are not using an OC192 (optical fiber cable) for their backbone, what they are using (OC3,OC12,OC48,etc..) is the standard technology (Geo instead of Benz). I don't forsee them going away or decreasing in value any time soon. But they are pretty much set in their way making it harder to confront problems with the upper management or get issues resolved quickly. Of course, who knows what technology we will be using in 30 years?
