I do not know whether Dr. Salari is still employed academically at University of British Columbia. If such is not the case maybe he's just cashing in his chips (at a fairly low price) to play his own situation cautiously.

There's one other possibility that I can think of. I've been told by someone that recently (don't have even the month yet) that Dr. Salari had gone to the Intellecual Property people at UBC and tried to get at least some of the patents licensed to Inflazyme sublicensed to himself, and they refused. I haven't been able to verify it yet as the person I need to speak with was gone last week and hasn't answered the phone so far this week. If it is true, and I do not have verification yet, and maybe not ever, then we can only speculate at putative motives. Perhaps he was thinking of starting his own company, with or without the benefit of these patents. I would like to apologize ahead of time if this recent history is inaccurate.

Maybe it has to do with El Nino, seriously. I hear from folks in Vancouver that the rain this year has played havoc with big leaky roofs to built in the building boom of the last few years. Sheetrock and Gypsumboard all deterioated and houses to condos rusting from electrical services to faded paint. Now, I heard something that may or not be true, but the generals like to live is castles, something about nouveau rich and or new money. Just an observation, no thing but gut feel- IE- He neeeded a big renovation on a big house. Am I off base; anyone??? ?

Dr. Salari was removed from his post as CEO and Pres by the Board of Directors in early March. Some concerns expressed by the BD arose in Q3 of 97, with respects to Salari's leadership as well as in the people he had assigned to management, were answered with his removal. The 2 VP's that Salari choose while he was in charge have recently been removed from their positions. IZP is currently looking for more experienced and qualified individuals to direct the research and clinical trials area of the company. Salari was CSO for the last few months. He has recently (end of June?) resigned from the company, and is trying to start another one. With the woeful decline in stock price of IZP inQ2, Q3, Q4 of 97 and Q1 of 98, the company is better without him or his managerial team. Things should better now.
