John,

You continue to bring up the past and don't acknowledge that Dave and Mike are doing a great job of reviving what was a dead company. They are not hyping the stock and they have worked their tails off for the stockholders. The company is in infinitley better shape now than it has ever been. Give them credit for hanging in there and not abandoning the company and it's stockholders.

Thank you for all the information regarding reporting tipsters to the SEC... I think you misunderstood my post however, I was NOT referring to NVID when I was talking about losses. (NVID, I hope will offset those mistakes!) I bought a couple of other OTC issues based on some internet newsletters sent to me (no, not BBNS either!), and that was totally dumb. The lesson learned is that you don't take anyone else' word for it when you buy a stock. If a stock sounds interesting, you do DD and then make up your mind. I don't blame the people who sent me that info. ("stockwatch", I think); I blame myself for trying to take a shortcut.

With so many people circumventing brokers by buying & selling over the net, there is a veritable plethora of newsletters being sent out with "picks of the the month" etc. They all sound great. Obviously they're not. I guess the bottom line here is "intent to deceive" or manipulate the price of a stock. There is a thin line between honest reporting and "hype." After all, what is the job of the money maker, except to positively affect the price of a stock? Are they promoting or hyping?

Some people latch on to a particular issue they follow, and they expound enthusiastically about the merits of this stock. Are they being devious or providing a service? Are they alerting people to an opportunity or leading them down the primrose path? Are they telling the truth as they see it, or lying for personal gain?

On these stock threads, I assume everyone is expressing an opinion, but not always. On the NVID thread we have seen it all... past management used the internet to make post fraudulent claims about a product (AXEN), that was nowheres near ready to come to market (among other things). They sold the stock and put a lot of the $$$ in their pocket. We've also heard from some naysayers, who in fact turned out to be competitors. (New rules are now being enforced to protect companies from slander and lible. A legitimate company can also be victimized). And when the company was being investigated we had govenernment "shills" online posing as potential investors. It's no wonder everyone is paranoid. These threads exist to promote a free exchange of information, but when you find out they're being manipulated by persons with private venues, how can you trust anyone?

I still think a lot of good (valid) information comes out of it. As we all get more savvey, the posters with a venue are weeded out. At least we learn to raise the question, "What's your interest in this stock?"

And finally, why the sudden interest in NVID when this thread was about dead a few months ago? Well I'm sure there are a lot of lurkers out there (like you & me), wondering what was going on and waiting for information. When no one responded to the companies bulletin about EHPC and the RMS technology, I took it upon myself to try to explain it a little better. It didn't generate much of a response (none, in fact.) I'm still a little surprised. All we can seem to do is rehash old stuff.

Regards to all...
