Monty ; WOW that looks like it will work,
BUT I don't quite understand it.
show mw how you get the -40.9% out of the NYSE
Advancing Issues 895
Declining Issues
2,076

Unchanged Issues 537

Total Issues 3,508
----------------------------
Your formula says.
This is the Adv Issues less Dec Issues divided by Total Issues
so 895-2076 = -1181/3508 = -.336%
lets say to get a nutual number such as 1
we would need the same advancers as decliners , and
no unchanged..the more unchanged we had the more it would
skew.
Some thing has to be done about the unchanged.
Unless you are not using them
so 895-2076 = -1181/2971= -.3975%
thats a lot closer, and we may not have the same exact data.
so I take it your omitting the unchanged from the total.
but if we had 500A 500D we would have 0/1000 & that wouldn't work <G>
hmmmm
Jim
