Comments on DELL and ASP from Briefing.... _____ Dell's (DELL -5 1/8) CFO noted that average selling prices (ASPs) should continue to slide in the current quarter...Remember it was dissatisfaction with the company's ASPs in its last report that triggered Dell's mid-May retreat... But component prices falling faster than ASPs so don't expect Dell to disappoint... Company is a juggernaut. ########################################## Comments from ABSLIVE (www.abslive.com): _______________________________________ Stocks got hammered in just the right places by EPS and Doctor Greenspan so as to turn the market's momentum....and shockingly the S&P indexers underperformed substantially as big cap banks, drugs and finally techs imploded. As we have been saying for a long time the easiest thing to do had been to buy the S&P and short just about everything else. Well I guess too many people were doing it (including us) and now they want to stop. Here is a guaranteed forecast..if big caps start to underperform consistently, there won't be anyplace to hide, not mid-caps, small-caps, or microcaps....not Europe, not Mexico, not Asia.
