Aha! You have to consider that you can double your money on the one "special" jeopardy question in the first round, and double it twice during the second round, and double it one last time in the Final Jeopardy round.

My final calculations: $283,200.

Heres how:

Total first round: 17,800. You get all questions right.
The daily double is under the "100" amount. You double
it. 9000 total possible, minus the 100, 8900 x2=17800.

You take that amount into double jeopardy but don't
hit the DJ until last 2 questions and they're both
under the "200". 18,000 minus 400 =17,600+17800-35,400.
Hit the first DJ and double it: 35,400x2=70,400.
Hit the next DJ and double it=140,800. Hit final jeopardy
and double it:281,600. Something like that. My figures
come out different everytime I do it.

Jeezz...
