If you listen to the conference call, you'll see lower earnings were due to memory as well as weakness in other areas of the company, notably modems (channels still full), and disk drives excepting the higher levels.

"Excluding memory, orders were down 19% year over year, and 5% sequentially. . . . Semiconductors, excluding DRAM, were down 20% year over year, and 10% sequentially."

Great story on CNBC last evening on TXN. Good story by reporter Rene San Miguel. (He used to be a news anchor and reporter in Dallas). Good spin on the restructure to DSP's.
