Todd,

Maybe to better understand the potential for GameFX, it might help if the contributions of Inland and Heliotrope are considered. I recall that Hainesda posted in the original message that THQI had recently acquired both back in 1996.

What games of late have come as a result of those deals? It strikes me that if these deals were beneficial for THQI, then the acquisition of 3DFX (GameFX?) will probably follow suit. Also, determining how long after the acquisitions were made before they began making contributions might help predict when products using GameFX technology might be expected.

Who knows anything about "Chrome" from Microsoft? It's a full implementation 3D rendering system for the windows environment, complete with programming tools shaped around DirectX. It is currently in Beta, and is expected to be released in about a year. It promises full 3D, but comes at a price in that it requires at least a 300MHz PII, as well as loads of memory, a fast video card, and yada yada yada ... :o)

Is this competitive with GameFX efforts, or is it not related on the basis of games vs. windows? I do know that DirectX is becoming a choice for game development, since it allows direct calls to low level routines. It basically bypasses much of the system overhead associated with the operating system, and provides a rich feature set. I don't feel like fighting MSFT, so any effort to help enlighten me that this is not an issue would be GREATLY appreciated.

Rugrats, JB

Todd, the person you are looking for is Steve T, he visited GameFX and met Noah Davis last month.

Call me Stagger Lee or whoever, I am happy for a small down day in light volume today. I am an investor, not a trader. I don't believe a stock can never have any consolidation. Prior to Q1, THQI has 10 consecutive up days and a bad news "replay" send it down 30%.
