Jacob and all,

we have discussed Y2K briefly on this thread before, trying to gauge the potential impact.

Computer Associates just reported their earnings,

<i?"..... Asian economic turmoil on our multinational clients and its potentially adverse impact on our near-term business. This, coupled with deferred software purchasing decisions as customers deal with their 'Y2K' projects and mainframe hardware transition issues ...."

Looks like these two short sentences are going to send CA tumbling this morning. The Asian part has been beaten to death here. The Y2K is interested. Some of us have suggested that Y2K may be good for the industry because it requires upgrades. Now it appears the question is this round of upgrade coming sooner or later?
