I'm not sure how they will benefit from the security aspect of the chip as far revenues are concerned, but it may help them to get the meters out into the market faster. That is my two cents worth. Being secure should help lesson fears of buying products over the internet which should help to increase the number of users.

I believe there will be no income from the security aspect. However if you get the chip into millions of computers, I would guess that at least 10% will buy something. Probably more if free CDs are included that need the WaveMeter to use the product.
