This will do wonders for bottom line. HeartScan has lost 8 million per year for the last two years and probably do the same this year. That means Imat has to sell at least 10 scanners each year at full margin just to generate enough profit to cover the losses. When you are selling less than 25 machines a year, that is a HUGE loss.

If it wasn't for the mounting losses, the company would be at break even or maybe plus one cent a share per quarter. The problems of the last quarter of 97 and first of 98 were caused by circumstances the company couldn't control or avoid.

The way the stock market works, a company that has no earnings is just a concept. A company that generates profits is the real thing.
That's why I have been so upset with HeartScan because the most important and largest earnings gap any company must traverse is from minus 1 cent to plus 1 cent. As soon as this thing goes positive and stays there, our wallets should fatten up.

Kakalak, I not sure of the details behind the sale of the Heartscan units, so I'm not sure how this will help IMAT's financials. However, I would suspect that the sale will be a positive, as the Heartscan was a losing business for IMAT.

I would like to see a press release from the company. Not sure I can take someone's posting at face value.
