Typically what I do is find a database that lists every traded issue. I then set my target range of parameters of what I am looking for. IE: float less than xxxx & share price less than xxxx, etc. I create a short list from there and start researching the short list. Or sometimes I will try and catch a trend craze (ie internet craze as of late) and focus in on related sectors. Here is a link to an alphabetical listing of issues biz.yahoo.com Hope that helps.
