>>> I have the greatest respect for CF management and have expressed that multiple times in public, and realize that they can't control the banks.

It is the inability to control or limited ability to influence or predict the actions of the bank participants that is the focus of the current discussions not CKFR or MSFDC themselves IMO. This is accentuated by the rapidly change in the financial landscape that is occuring due to the Internet.

Benny,
My post was referring to the belief that CF should JV portals with the on-line brokers. This certainly suggested that they should be employing an entirely different strategy from that which they are pursuing, which doesn't necessarily imply they are "brain dead" (sorry for using such a strong term) but does suggest there is a belief that they aren't doing what they SHOULD BE DOING. And I do not think that is the case. I believe firmly that staying the course of pursuing/enabling the banks will prove to deliver the best crop of users, and that pursuing the low hanging fruit that may be available through aggressively aligning with the brokerages would risk alienating the banks would be a foolish move. Management seems to agree.

No offense to anyone intended.

If anyone is surprised about the Mellon pilot, I think I'm perhaps the most. I have been under the impression that they were strong for getting CKFR running things.

So, I called the IR dept at Mellon(412-234-5000), and Spoke to a gentleman, and his only explaination was that at this point in time, there is no clear winner and that Mellon wanted to be assured a spot in the winners camp.

I then confronted him with the notion that by signing a pilot with MSFDC, they are in sorts taking a whack at Intergion, and CKFR as well, and surely that can't help neturalize things but rather cause investors to speculate that something is going astray with the Intergion/CKFR relationship.

His tone changed to a bit of disappointment, and said that this in NO WAY affects their relationship with Integrion/CKFR, and he said if may appear on the surface to the contrary, but assured me they are happy with their part in Integrion.

I proposed a few more questions to him which he said he didn't know the answers and I was getting to technical for him. Okay. I almost believed that since he is only an I.R. rep.(or V.P. or whatever). I thanked himm for his time, and said good bye.
