IMO

The plan was to run up the value of there stock with hype and use its inflated value to buy the internet sites only problem it is not working and as soon as the few institutional investors they got involved lose a little more money they will dump there positions, as far as the article we are citing the author was sold a bill of goods and that is very evident to him now.
