Clearly you have never been to South Africa. It has an extensive manufacturing industry in addition to its mining industries, built up partially as a result of years of isolation and minimal external investment. There is plenty of money to be made there.

Muthian,

Although you are entitled to your opinion, you should at least get your facts straight. The contract was not with TAVA for manufacturing facilities, but with TAVA/BECK for utilities work.....

TAVA/R.W. Beck recently signed a teaming agreement with Y2K
Africa, itself a joint venture of Kutlwano Engineering Consulting and Technology Service International, a subsidiary of Eskom, the state utility of South Africa.

Y2K Africa will apply the TAVA/R.W. Beck Utility Y2K(TM) products and services to electric, gas, water, and wastewater utilities in South Africa and throughout the continent.

I'm not too sure, but I think that South Africa has electricity, gas, and even running water. Although there are no numbers provided in this release, I see this as very possitive, and bullish. TAVA has once again succeeded in breaking into a new market, and an emerging one at that.

South Africa has about 36 Mega Watts of installed generation capacity. It is all ESKOM! They are a fairly well run utility.

Size wise, there are not too many utilities with bigger installed bases in the US.
