I just called Datek Securities, They told me that if I opened an account there that they have 2000 shares of AMZN available for shorting. They didn't even hesitate. I am not sure how this possible considering that there is a 48% short interest in the stock. The only thing I can figure is that Datek has to be the one buying the stock. Several other houses like Bear Stearns and Goldman Sachs don't have any shares available for shorting.

I told my broker about daytek but he said there's nothing to borrow to short AMZN at this moment. Market is totally nuts- all internet stocks are up.... MSPG up more than 10 points, up a total of 32 points in 3 days..... this is just nuts!
