i stopped smoking chains. just cigarettes..
my comapny had 12 cars, started with one, used motorola max tracs, started with cb's, worked our way thru vhf to 900mhz, then back to vhf and cell phones.
fought tooth and nail against the big company.eventually conquered and bought another company, put another guy out , and matche dthe big guys daily numbers (for our municipality)
The other competitor moved away, and i ended up in an engrossed legal battle, my first lawyer, a true mentor and friend, died, the second was a lying scumbag thief who sold me out.
(go figure)
Upon spending more time in court than on the road, i sold my phone number and drove many of the cars to the junkyard.
I gave a few cars away, still have some radios, and conatcts with most of the 10-30 car fleets here in Long Island and queens.
I had a limo, which i have put back on the road, and am doing the towncars.com thing...
i was offered a yellow medallion which would have been paid off by now, and doubled in price since 8 years ago.
have had my share of petty and real fistfights in the cab. I had no dividers, and these crackheads think they are slick.
one of the best maneuvers is accelrating to about 70-, they reach over the seat, grab them by the hair or shirt and hit the brakes with all your might.
I had to replace a windshield the last time i did that.
Mostly passive, until it becomes time to become aggressive, then the meter is off and i can vent my frustration.
Not a very clean job, but it certainly is fun.
BTW harry chapin can kiss my ass.

When I drove a chariot, we had ticking meters that you wound up like a clock. They were made by Rockwell, and they drove you nuts. Lost my day man on Xmas day. Shot to death near the corner of Broadway and Winnemac in Chicago at noon.
