More good news that I cannot seem to find anywhere but on the DR home page. Anybody have any current news about the 12 patents? I thought I read some had been approved around the time of the shareholder's meeting. DIGITAL RIVER TEAMS WITH XEROX SCANSOFT TO OFFER SPECIAL ONLINE VERSION OF TEXTBRIDGE PRO 98 Full-Feature Version of Leading OCR Software Available for Download from the Web Minneapolis, Minn. July 22, 1998 - Digital River today announced that they have partnered with Xerox ScanSoft to offer a special version of TextBridge Pro 98 for download from Xerox's online store. This special version of the award-winning Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software has been reduced in size from 35MB to 18MB to make it downloadable. By removing the multimedia tool which walks first-time users through the program and Adobe Acrobat, which can be downloaded free from Adobe's Web site, Digital River and Xerox have created a full-featured OCR package that can be delivered via Electronic Software Distribution (ESD). "Digital River's e-commerce solution gives us the ability to offer our industry-leading OCR software to anyone who wants to download it," said Paul Augustyniak, national sales manager at Xerox ScanSoft. "By creating this special version of the software, users can quickly download and install TextBridge Pro 98 into their scanner and experience the complete time-saving benefits of our award-winning OCR." "We are excited to be helping Xerox join the thousands of software publishers that are looking to ESD as a viable sales option for their products," said Joel Ronning, president and chief executive officer of Digital River. "We believe the future of e-commerce is extremely promising. TextBridge Pro 98 is a great addition to our inventory of more than 100,000 digital products."
