Exactly, stockpile because box makers had a cheaper alternative. CPQ inventory came long after Intel's stockpile problem.

Do you think the avg family getting a PC needs the $2400 machine to throw away after 3 years or the $1200 300Mhz machine that will do everything they need ?

Dell's business model and the fact they are still growing is their strong point right now but wait until the declining ASP gets them, same as Intel, which is also a very competent co.
