Hi Kevin, Per your request: VLSI Technology Shares Jump On Takeover Speculation Dow Jones Online News, Monday, June 22, 1998 at 19:04 PALO ALTO, Calif., -(Dow Jones)- VLSI Technology Inc. shares were up sharply Monday on speculation the chip maker could be a candidate for a takeover. The San Jose, Calif., company's stock (VLSI) finished up $2.75, or 16.9%, at $19.063, though analysts and investors said the speculation in the financial markets didn't focus on a possible acquirer. Rather, it was general, identifying VLSI as a company ripe for a purchase because of its weak financial performance and low stock price.
