As I understand it the antisense is a single strand of RNA?? The eye would be the quickest route to the blood stream. I'm still trying to digest all the medical terms myself.

I htink it is injected into the eye because the drug is specifically for the eye.
Vitravene was recommended for both newly diagnosed
cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis or CMV retinitis that has not
responded to available drugs.

I am not sure where you saw that this was the injection point, but I think the telomere vector that CYGS is developing is completely different. I am no bio scientist and welcome clarification!
