I think that Geoff did a very thorough analysis about this point. Maybe at Message 4865849 or some posts nearby. In fact, many of these tedious points have been thoroughly covered by knowledgeable threadsters.

Correct, because they are cheaper chips. Competition causes less demand for more expensive products, which causes declining ASP's. As for credible offerings from AMD & NSM, CPQ is more credible in comparison to Dell than AMD or NSM is to Intel. If it can happen to a true technical GIANT like Intel, it can happen to a box maker even more so.

This same thing will happen to Dell eventually, I hope not for quite some time. Do you think big business really needs the Dell PC on its desk if it's more expensive than a competitors ?
