Steve:

Good point! I have been following GEMS for the past 2 years - first purchase at 35. Added more at 15, 11, 10... Then kept selling on its way up to 20. Was completely out of it around 17 - I think I finally broke even. I know they seem to have good technology and MOT is their largest competitor. But look at mot - they are struggling too.
Need to be aware of the market conditions and play accordingly.

Was tempted to pick up more GEMS when it dropped to 11 before earnings release - but thought that somebody is selling before earnings release maybe they know something so decided not to buy - I guess got lucky!
(Now if I had applied the same logic to GENZL - another of Linda's favorite!! I liked it too much and picked up a bunch at 5 1/2 ;-()

Will pick up GEMS once the dust settles ( or after the Kahuna hits). I have reviewed the GEMS technology/products it appears good but the conditions for Paging industry is not good considering the SEA mess.

J.

Linda - hang in there -gems and genzl will be winners!

Don't buy GEMS!!! Management consistently lies about future earnings, and can't be trusted! This puppy could easily slide down to $2-5 range. Have seen it happen before with other companies.

there appears to be no short term ability to improve its business. we are in a "what can you do for me tomorrow" market. if the answer is nothing then the punishment is severe!

good luck longer term.
