>>The zip+ is backordered....for those of you who do not know, iom will slowly faze them out and incorportate the good features of it into the normal zip ie, smaller power supply, etc.<<

Various retailers have been telling customers Zip Plus is being discontinued for awhile. In fact, I posted this days ago. The embarrassing Zip Plus fiasco is simply causing Iomega "Customer Support" too many headaches, refunds, and product returns.

The smaller power supply is the only feature Zip Plus may carry over to normal Zips. The auto-detect scheme realized by Iomega Engineering is/was a bad joke, and the SCSI non-compliance doomed it. The accelerator software offered with the Zip Plus reportedly works on normal PP Zips anyway. What other features are there that could carry over?

First Compaq, now DELL. Apparently, contrary to popular Iomaniac opinion, allegiences are weak in this sector. Boxmakers will include whatever they want to. And Sony HiFi is right around the corner.
