Posters on this board have been predicting a negative - insider selling effect ever since last November when shares were unlocked. It hasn't happened. Based on the referenced post, I was curious to know if there's any reason to expect it now. From the answer, there's obviously not.

John:

There has been a lot of insider selling and it will continue. Its effect on the stock price has been minimal in the past because of the small float and internet mania. Remember though that most vesting schedules for options call for 1 year cliff vesting, then typically monthly after that. Most Amazon employees have been hired within the last 9 months to a year. You haven't yet seen the full force of this phenomenon yet. Also, it is much harder to sustain the current price (130 or 260 pre-split) when new shares are being dumped on the market.

If you truly believe that the current price is not overvalued and that the share price has room to grow from here, then stick with it. If my past success of predicting this stock is any indication, you will become a millionaire by staying long. Good luck.
