While I am optimistic on Hummingbird in the long run, I doubt that this quarterly report will do little to scare the shorts (that will be the only thing which will result in a significant increase in the stock price). The report does confirm that growth is slowing. Once the American market starts to realize value, then Hummingbird will fly.

It is disheartening to see stocks like Microsoft with a p/e of approximately 65 and Yahoo with a p/e of about 300 ($195.00 per share??!) going up like crazy on what is rampant greed and speculation. The value is there in Hummingbird. Management has previously stated that they have a strategy to deal with the shorts. The strategy either isn't working or hasn't been implemented (i.e. - their proposed stock re-purchase program) We'll have to wait for a market correction for the p/e ratios to return to normal. Unfortunately, for us, this does not necessarily mean an increase in the stock price. It could just mean that the other stock prices will decrease.

Maybe Hummingbird will be the target of a takeover or delisted from the Nasdaq ;-)

Just my $.01.5 (.02 U.S.)

(long on Hummingbird and have been for what seems a long time)
