The market is putting them both in the same bucket. Why is VSNT advancing if they have no prospects? The answer is a rising tide raises all boats. I don't closely follow Versant. I didn't like their product. My remarks had to do with what an apparently changing perception of ODB is having on the pure plays. You asked me for any thoughts or opinions, so I thought you might be interested in what my every trade analysis program was indicating or my sense of VSNT's latest earnings circumstances.

I have seen companies like VSNT struggle while the favorite, like ODIS, seem to get all the advantages only to later develop into an all-out rout of the favorite by the underdog. The reason: VSNT is in a position to take risks. They have nothing to lose to go for it. They need to upgrade their product and that could be done with the help of, say, CA. Jasmine. CA also has nothing to lose, but they aren't desperate and will be avoiding new commitments. If the market for ODBs starts heating up, then CA might be interested in acquiring VSNT including the marketing department. One thing I do know, when the market picks up, VSNT stock outperforms ODIS handily.

What's with this character changing stuff? Some hack comes on and claims I don't know ODIS because I guessed wrongly about their mediocre quarter. My guess would have been good news. What came in was the blah. Or was it, blah and blah. If you were impressed, you haven't spent much time assembling spreadsheet presentation of earnings factors. Well I've been doing it almost for 30 years and I've been familiar with the company's products for three years and have owned the stock since the IPO. The spreadsheet analysis doesn't impress me at all, the stock has been nothing but a drag, and the product is shunned because it is too worthy.

I am noticing you guys are over-reacting to what I say as though you are getting angry with this company. You can't tolerate any criticism. It's understandable. In spite of earnings growth rate of 40%?, they earned the same $.04 they did when I bought the stock 2 years ago. Let's see, .04,.04, .05, .06, .06, .07, .07, .08. Well, they would have earned $.08 if they didn't have to change course!
