After purchasing LU yesterday in anticipation of earnings (first time), I'm asking myself - why did I do it???? I also have owned and traded TLAB for the past 6 years - I truly hope this purchase of LU was not at the end of what appears to be a great run.

LU take over - TKLC or AFCI?? AFCI lawsuits concern me. Any thoughts?

S, if you are long term please take my advice and don't wait. I am still waiting to have a buy order at 61 1/2 filled from only a few months ago. Any odds on my chances?
Paul

It is best to own tlab, lu, csco. I own tlab, lu & NOT csco. I am
looking to get into csco for some time. Maybe, it is time to bite the
bullet and get into csco. that way I have all the ground covered..
Getting into lucent is a no brainer. Immi

Sueponine... I have held CSCO and I am currently in LU. Both are outstanding companies. CSCO has been moving consistenty up for 10 years (+) using a basic product idea. Lucent is only 3 years old (+/-), with the wealth and wisdom of Bell Labs' innovation. I would suggest that LU is in it's infancy with unbridled opportunity for growth in all current and future aspects of communications. As much as I believe in the outstanding ability of John Chambers, I think he has a mammoth challenge with LU. Buy LU now, or wait a few weeks to see if there's any more settling because of the markets; but it's not too late for LU, IMHO.

Simple question. Is it too late to get into LU. I own TLAB and CSCO and I am continually finding myself looking around and questioning myself, "Now why is it again that I don't own LU?" A simple yes or no will do. Not looking for investment advice, will do my own DD, well, already have to some extent.

Long term = Yes... its technology, its industry, its growth pattern etc. seem all to be working in sync.

Short term = LU could take a breather, look at a chart and make your own deductions, in addition, the overall market can and will influence its short term performance. (as with most stocks).

Bottom line it depends in your own strategies, length of holding period and other objectives you may have.

In short, I tend to trade stocks rather than invest, I view LU as a stock that if my trade goes sour, I do not mind "converting" it to a mid term "investment"... so far, trade has been good. (that does not mean such could change tomorrow).

The above is strictly my opinion, it does not constitute any advice.

Please make your own decision.

Z.

p.s. do not forget that.....

How high can market caps go? MSFT = GE, LU half of that, it all seem out of hand.
