Goodness Howard is sensitive.

I wonder what he means by the expression '...Real reason..'.

No question if the economy went sour I and possibly many of us and others would blame old G. But that is nothing personal its just what politicians and other major public figures have to live with and expect and the most famous example was Winston Churchill who was slung out of office in the summer of 1945 after quite a SUCCESSFUL five year term never mind an unsuccessful one.

Mind you G did have one amazing piece of insight reproted in the WSJ this morning. Apparently it is his opinion that one day the market will drop but he is not sure when or by how much.

OK for the avoidance of doubt if the market drops THEN I would expect G to come out with positive statements and actions to support it and repair the damage. Because the market is very important to a big majority of the people and possbily the stability of the World economy depends upon it. No I'm not being hypocritical I think that his job includes helping the market when it needs it.

Aslo for the avoidance of doubt and the avoidance of any 'Real reason' let me restate that I rather like G and I'm not complaining about his performace at the Fed in fact the opposite.

Regards,

L
