Hearing about the threat reminded me of an email threat that was made to a gentleman who complained about spam being sent from ETMP and Sloane Fitzgerald. He received an email giving his parents name and address, stating that it would be unfortunate if something happened to them. If I remember correctly the threat was sent from the same mail server that sent the original spam.
If you want more information just check dejanews and type in ETMP and look under postings to news.admin.net-abuse.email. While your there also just check the amount of spam being sent out by ETMP trying to promote itself.

"Cyber scammed
Key Excalibur client probed over bogus Internet claims"

amcity.com

While nominally about Excalibur, the supplier of the Eventemp climate control units, the article actually focuses largely on Eventemp. One section of particular interest was the following:

Simonis faxed to The Business Journal a document he described as a copy of a purchase order with Don Massey Cadillac in Plymouth, Mich. Simonis said the document proved the Cadillac dealership had ordered the climate control units.

But Jason Goodwin, assistant parts manager at Don Massey, said his company has no record of a purchase order.

"We have never even heard of an Eventemp Corp.," Goodwin said.

Unless I've missed a third alternative, the purported purchase order faxed to the Business Journal was either a smoking gun forgery (if there is no such purchase order) or provides documentation of Eventemp's claim (if the purchase order is consistent with the press releases put out by Sloan Fitzgerald for Eventemp). I also find it interesting that Eventemp was willing to provide this documentation to a Milwaukee reporter while promising it, but not actually supplying it to a local one, Craig Anderson of the Phoenix Republic (see the post I'm replying to).

One should also note that Jason Goodwin's statement "We have never even heard of an Eventemp Corp." is not consistent (assuming by "we", he meant Don Massey Inc. rather than its parts department) with the statement by another Don Massey employee indicating that Don Massey agreed to evaluate the climate control device but never received an evaluation unit. However, quite possibly this inconsistency should be attributed to the fact that not every employee of this large ($900+ million in 1997 sales per
pathfinder.com )
corporation is familiar with all facets of its operations.

P.S. I can't recall a previous thread where John Reed Stark has posted a trading suspension and there have been no comments or questions about it (at least until this post).
