Hmmm ,,
Just saw , chief editior of Fortune Magazine .. on CNN ...
His argument is this ...
There were 14,000 banks in USA ,,, 5 years ago ,, now 9,000 banks... analysts are saying that by year 2001 ,, there will only be 4,000 banks,, still more than any other continets put together..
In other words ,, there will be continuing mergers,, and every time a merger takes place ,, guy who gets taken over gets the premium ,, the share holders will benefit..
But which bank ?
Best play is what they call Regional Bank Fund ,, and the best performing one is John Hancock Regional Bank Fund ,, it has beat S & P 2 to 1 for last ten years..
It might be a good idea to look in to for your IRA ,, even 401K ,, actually ,,
As we day trade,, I do not touch my main portfolio ,, whether up or down ,, I just leave it alone,, one I got them real cheap ,, two ,, these are for retirement and they are my security blanket , in case I blow it all .. It's a good idea to have say 80 % in the longs and day trade only the risk money ... |
